About the owner
Hey pet parents! I’m Lindsay, and I am thrilled to offer compassionate and competent care to you and your animal family members based on a deep love for animals and a decade of diverse animal care experience. This includes nearly ten years of experience in veterinary medicine – both as a fully-skilled veterinary assisstant and as the manager of a busy hospital. I have also spent several years volunteering for the city animal shelter, with an animal welfare group in New Mexico and even spent some time in South Africa volunteering in a veterinary program. And I’ve had the joy of fostering kittens for a local cat rescue. So needless to say, I absolutely love pets. And I will love yours too!

Why Professional Pet Sitting?
Eden Pet Care was founded on the belief that pets are family and deserve the best that we can give them. It also started from the recognition that there are few pet care options for traveling and busy pet owners that don’t cause a decent amount of stress for both pet and pet parent. Whether you’re considering asking friends or family, dropping your pets off at boarding, or looking on a large-scale pet sitting site, it can be hard to find good, reliable help. This is particularly true for pets that are sensitive to change and stress, senior pets, and pets with special needs.
That’s where professional pet sitting comes in. As part of a growing industry, “professional” pet sitters typically come with a lot of great training, resources, certificates, liability protection and insurance that benefits both pet sitter and pet parent. For me and my business, I am an active member of the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters and Pet Sitters International, insured with Pet Sitters Associates, and certified in pet CPR/first aid and Fear Free pet care. I also bring years of experience in veterinary medicine and animal welfare, allowing me to provide higher-quality care. Lastly, I enjoy participating in reputable continuing education in pet health and wellness, business management, and am working on several other certifications and coursework.

Comparing Common Pet Sitting Options
Friends, Family,
Neighbors
No insurance coverage that benefits both them and you.
May not have the experience and knowledge for animal care and behavior, and the ability to recognize when your pet may need medical attention.
No professional training, certifications and associations.
Reduced flexibility as they likely have other commitments.
Boarding
and Daycare
Often very confusing and stressful for pets.
Can be hard on cats, senior pets, or pets with behavior issues or medical requirements. Stress from these environments can worsen behavioral/ medical conditions.
Costs can add up quickly for multiple pets.
Potential exposure to contagious diseases and injury.
Large Networks
and Companies
Diversity in the quality and reliability of care.
Not always licensed, certified, insured, or bonded.
Often utilizes employees, independent contractors, or registrants who may not have the same level of training, experience, or capacity to fully commit.
Unfortunate horror stories about large-scale companies and their registered “pet sitters”.
