Arrival times are based on a two-hour window for Swing-bys and Drop-in Visits, and a one-hour window for Hourly Petsitting and late-night visits between 8pm – 10pm, unless a “Precise Arrival Time” add-on service has been purchased. For example, if a client requests a Drop-in Visit for 12pm, the service will be performed between 11am and 1pm.
Overnights are based on a precise arrival time.

Getting Started

First, scroll down on this page to view your different pet sitting options. Also be sure to check out some important policies by visiting the “Policies” page from the menu at the top of this page.

Next, reach out to Eden Pet Care with any questions and your request for services via email, text, or the “Contact” button at the top right corner of this page.

If there’s availability for your request, we will then schedule a virtual consultation through a phone or video call to discuss your needs and determine which services would be best suited to meet them. During this chat we will also schedule your in-person Meet and Greet.

After our virtual consultation, you will gain access to your online client account where you can fully reserve your booking with a 50% deposit and start some paperwork (must be completed prior to the Meet and Greet).

Closer to the service date, an in-person Meet and Greet will be required ($25 for 30 minutes together). This allows us to meet and for your pets to become acquainted with me. We will also review all of your instructions and finalize the details. You can also request an in-person Meet and Greet in place of the virtual consultation (however there would still be another one required closer to your booking date, both at $25 each). These Meet and Greets will be required once a year for future bookings or any time there is a new pet in the home.

NOTE:

I do not charge for extra pets or medications, however after learning about the specific needs of your pets, I may require a longer-duration visit or more frequent visits in order to successfully complete the tasks and provide proper care for each pet. Your pet’s safety, health and happiness are my absolute priority and I will be unable to provide services if I do not believe I can fulfill this responsibility in the originally desired timeframe.

Every booking has firm payment and cancellation policies. Please click here to learn more about these and other important policies prior to requesting a service.

Swing-By - 10-15 minutes - $22

A quick visit is often a good option for cats who hide or prefer to be left alone, just needing their litterbox scooped and food/water filled. It also works for dogs who have a doggy door for daytime bathroom access, just needing their food/water filled and a quick hello. A Swing-by could be added on top of other visits for puppies or senior pets who need frequent (and quick) potty breaks throughout the day.

Details:

  • Includes services in a Drop-in Visit EXCEPT:
    • Collecting newspaper, extensive home security measures, watering plants, quality time with pet, complicated feedings, physical look-over of your pet, medications, medical care, poop pick up, in-house waste clean-up, and a pet report (just a quick daily update via text/email)
  • Restrictions:
    • Up to 2 pets
    • Healthy pets only
    • Service area only
    • Available for up-to seven days at a time for traveling pet parents
    • Not for puppies and kittens under 1-year of age, geriatric pets (age depends on size/breed for dogs), and pets needing medication/medical care or certain special care. These pets do not qualify unless this visit is added on top of Drop-in Visits that follow that service’s minimum booking requirements
    • Add-on services will require an upgrade to a Drop-In Visit or Hourly Pet Sitting

General minimum booking requirements for traveling pet parents:

  • One visit per day for healthy, free-feeding cats and healthy birds, reptiles, and small mammals
  • Two visits per day for adult cats and adult dogs that have additional support for potty breaks (see *note below)
  • Three visits per day for senior pets (age depends on size/breed) and dogs without additional provisions for potty breaks
  • In addition – If Swing-by visits are not already used alongside other types of visits, a 30-minute Drop-In-Visit will be required once every other day so that I can spend a little more time making sure your pet is okay. I strongly recommend at least one lengthier visit per day when combined with quick Swing-bys. **
  • *Additional provisions for potty breaks may include a daytime doggy door, pee pads, indoor potty turf, and/or a secondary caretaker. It is Eden Pet Care policy for dog doors to remain closed between 10pm and 7am, or at all times for homes with puppies under 9 months of age, and in some other circumstances. It is also Eden Pet Care policy to be informed of any secondary caretakers that may be involved, and be provided their contact info. See important info regarding doggy doors and secondary caretakers on the Policies page
  • It is at the discretion of Eden Pet Care to discern how many visits (or length of visit) will be required for each pet in order for Eden Pet Care to successfully fulfill its purpose in providing high quality and safe care for your pet
  • To see if your home and pets would qualify for a short Swing-by visit, please email me with details about your pets/home, their needs, and photos of your pets, so that we can discuss it!

  • Cost is a $15 base fee, plus $1/mile to your preferred store, and the cost of the item(s)

Nails trim – $20

  • If your dog or cat hates the car and time at the vet or groomers, or if you just don’t have the time to get them there, opt for a nail trim at home
  • Be sure to see the important note at bottom about add-ons that involve physical handling of pets!

Brushing – $15 – $30

Microchip Scan and Registration Check – $15

  • Microchips are such an important part of safe and responsible pet ownership. So if you’re not sure your pet is microchipped or if you remembered to register the chip number with your personal information, I can help!
  • What I’ll do is use a professional-grade, universal scanner (most scanners you can buy online are not “universal”, capable of detecting both old and new microchip types) to check your pet all over for a microchip (sometimes they migrate to different parts of the body). If it detects a chip, I’ll look up the number in a database to check its registration status. I will then contact that specific microchip company to ensure the microchip number is registered to you and not a prior owner, and check what contact information they have for you. Next I’ll provide you with that information for you to either keep in your records or to contact the microchip company to update any outdated information

Litterbox Cleaning and Refill – $15

  • Litterboxes can get pretty nasty. The porous plastic material can trap bacteria, resulting in a some stinky litter that just never seems to smell better no matter how often you scoop it. And even if you do scoop every day, the remaining litter granules can hang on to urine and fecal matter. So it’s best to fully change out a litterbox and clean the plastic on a regular basis. Otherwise you may have cats walking all over your furniture, bedsheets, or kitchen counters leaving traces of urine and fecal matter. Yuck. if you select this add-on and I’ll go ahead dump the litter, scrub the plastic (with my own sponge), rinse it, dry it, and fill with fresh litter (best to fill to 3-4 inches). If you don’t have enough litter on hand, feel free to add on a Supply Run and I can pick up some more

Yard poop pick-up – $20 and up

  • With this service, I’ll go ahead and pick up any dog waste in your yard, rather than just what’s deposited during the pet-sitting time frame
  • Price depends entirely on size of yard, terrain and how much there is to clean up. I will get you a quote at the meet-and-greet or first day of service
  • Weather restrictions may apply. Large areas may require an upgrade to a longer-duration pet sitting service

Important note regarding add-ons:

  • All add-ons that involve direct handling of your pet will only be available for pets who comfortably tolerate the service. It’s not always true that pets who hate receiving these services at the vet or groomers will handle it better just because they’re in their home. For some pets, yes! But for many, they may be more nervous. Plus, at the vet and some groomers, they utilize multiple people and trained hands to skillfully restrain and comfort a pet while someone else performs the service. In your home, it’ll just be me! So I will certainly do my absolutely best to help you and your pet avoid a trip to the vet, but I will only keep trying as long as your pet is comfortable
  • In addition, Eden Pet Care will utilize necessary and harmless handing techniques/tools for the safe and successful provision of these services. This may include a secured leash, a muzzle, or a towel wrap. This requirement serves not only to reduce stress for the pet and increase their physical comfort, but it also prevents the possibility of a bite incident. It’s no surprise that some pets may want to tell a stranger not to handle them in strange ways in their own home, and since they can’t do that with words, they may do it with their teeth. This does not make any pet a “bad” dog or cat. However, it does mean that Eden Pet Care will need to take precaution to prevent an accident
  • During these efforts, if Eden Pet Care determines that the physical handling of a pet causes a pet too much distress/discomfort or still poses too great a bite risk to Eden Pet Care, Eden Pet Care will be unable to perform the relevant service

Extra Fees

Holiday surcharge – $10/visit

  • There will be a surcharge of $10 added onto each individual visit on most federal holidays:
    • New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

Precise-arrival time – $10/visit

  • Eden Pet Care operates on a two-hour service window for Drop-in Visits and Swing-bys, and a one-hour window for Hourly Petsitting and Late-night Visits. Overnights operate on a precise arrival time

  • For example, if a client requests a Drop-in Visit for 12pm, the service will be performed between 11am and 1pm

  • However, if a client wishes for Eden Pet Care to arrive at a specific time, they may request this service to be added on to the invoice

  • With this service, Eden Pet Care will arrive at the client’s home within ten minutes on either side of the requested time (20 minute window)

Late-night visit – $10/visit

  • If a client needs a visit to occur during the hours of 8pm and 10pm, there will be a $10 fee added onto that invoice for each visit

  • Weather, visibility, and concerns for safety may limit any requests/needs that involve outdoor activity at night

Veterinary Transport – $1/minute

  • This fee would incur should your pet require veterinary care during the course of pet sitting, and your veterinarian authorizes your pet to simply be dropped off while the rest of the appointment is handled by you over the phone. The $1/minute of time will include the time to pick up your pet
  • The reason this is priced at $1/minute of time is due to the fact that in these situations, it can often be difficult to predict how long the drop-off process will take. Every veterinarian has different protocols on patient admits and the veterinary hospital may be extremely busy. They may also need me to stay and answer questions or sign paperwork
  • Please see important policy information on the Policies page regarding medical and veterinary situations

Veterinary Attendant – $50 +$1/minute over 60 minutes

  • This fee would incur should your pet require veterinary care during the course of pet sitting, for which Eden Pet Care transports the pet and stays for the duration of the appointment
  • Please see important policy information on the Policies page regarding medical and veterinary situations

Excessive watering/gardening – $10 and up

  • Eden Pet Care is a pet care provider and in most circumstances will be unable to assist with plant care beyond watering a handful of indoor/porch plants (it is recommended to utilize a secondary caregiver for gardens)
  • However, you are welcome to request this additional home service, for which Eden Pet Care will determine its ability to fulfill the request at the initial consultation or meet-and-greet. The fee for this service will determined at that time

Excessive in-home waste clean-up. $1/minute

  • Eden Pet Care understands and is prepared for some pet accidents in the home. No big deal. However, it is at the discretion of Eden Pet Care to determine at which point an excessive clean-up fee will apply
  • Eden Pet Care will also communicate with you should accidents occur in the house
  • Only client-provided cleaning supplies will be used

Post-service check-in visit – $25

  • Eden Pet Care requires that clients inform the owner of return from travel/absence within 24 hours. Otherwise, Eden Pet Care will try to contact you to check-in. The owner will definitely worry! If you are unresponsive after a few attempts, Eden Pet Care will perform a post-service check-in visit to confirm return and ensure pets are okay if home access is still available
